TITANIC HERITAGE TRUST
| The film “S.O.S.. TITANIC is released
The Titanic disaster is depicted, primarily as seen through the eyes of one couple in each of the three classes on board. (This version of Titanic used the Queen Mary as a sorry excuse for the Titanic, which didn’t work very well.
The films locations, story and events based on the actual sinking, and leave a lot to be desired, rather insulting to those who have studied actual events.
The special effects are colorized versions of the same shots used in A Night to Remember.
The all star cast headed by David Jansen does little to improve the overall quality of the film.
With a budget of $7,000,000 and financed by ABC Television of America and the British EMI Film Company.
Two versions would eventually be released, a 140 minute version for the American film circuit and a 109 version for European theatrical release. :
